About

I have studied at the Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest (Dutch and English Language and Literature), at the University of Utrecht (English Language and Literature and Medieval Studies) and at the Central European University (Department of Medieval Studies). I have written my PhD at the Central European University (Department of Medieval Studies) on the topic of Queen Mary of Hungary (1505-1558) and the institution of the queen's court.

My research interests include medieval and early modern queenship, comparative court studies, women’s history, the court and towns in the Netherlands in the early modern period, early modern towns and literature, early modern towns and civic ceremonial, multilingual communities, cultural transmission, cultural contacts between Hungary and the Netherlands.

I am an assistant professor at the Department of Dutch Studies of the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest and teach courses in medieval and early modern Dutch literature and culture on BA and MA levels.

Together with prof. dr. Remco Sleiderink (Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel) I currently coordinate the international research project 'Beatrijs internationaal'  with focus on the translation and reception history of the Middle Dutch 'Beatrijs'. The project culminates in an international conference at the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (The Hague) - organised in cooperation with dr. Ton van Kalmthout (Huygens Institute, The Hague) - on 29-30 September 2011. For more information on the project see:  http://www.middelnederlands.be/beatrijsinternationaal/
